This document explains how the app handles your data, which permissions are used, and what you can expect when using the app.

Purpose of the App

PushUps is a free Android app designed to help users track push-up workouts, follow structured training plans, and monitor their performance over time. The app offers two primary workout modes:

Workout Plans: structured push-up routines with rest intervals and difficulty progression.
Free Workout: quick mode to count and track push-ups without a predefined plan.

Health Connect Integration

PushUps integrates with Health Connect to provide seamless tracking and synchronization of your workouts across compatible fitness apps. This integration is entirely optional and under your control.

android.permission.health.READ_EXERCISE Used to read your existing exercise sessions from Health Connect so that your statistics in the app include workouts you recorded on other devices or apps.

android.permission.health.WRITE_EXERCISE Used to write your push-up workouts to Health Connect so that they can be displayed in other apps you approve.

These permissions are requested only when needed — for example, when viewing your statistics (read access) or when saving a completed workout (write access). No Health Connect data is transferred outside of your device.

Important Health Disclaimer

You are solely responsible for performing exercises correctly and safely.
Consult a medical professional before starting any new exercise routine.
If you experience pain or discomfort, stop immediately.
The app is provided "as is" without any guarantees of health or fitness outcomes.

System Permissions Used

android.permission.VIBRATE Used to provide vibration feedback when a rest period ends or a push-up is detected.

android.permission.INTERNET Required for displaying ads using Google AdMob and anonymous crash reporting.

android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS Allows the app to show reminder notifications at scheduled times when the user has enabled workout reminders for specific days of the week.

Data Storage & Synchronization

The app stores your workout data locally on your device. If you enable Health Connect integration, your workout sessions are also saved within Health Connect so they can be viewed or shared with other apps that you approve.

The app does not collect, transfer, or share any personal data with external servers. All synchronization happens securely and locally between your device and the Health Connect framework.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

Local Data: Delete the app or clear its storage from system settings to remove all locally stored workout data.
Health Connect Data: Open the Health Connect app and delete or manage any data shared by PushUps directly. You do not need to contact the developer to request deletion.

PushUps is a free app supported by lightweight advertisements via the Google AdMob SDK. Ads are displayed in a minimal and non-intrusive manner. You can manage your ad preferences and consent at any time using the built-in Google consent dialog (UserMessagingPlatform.showPrivacyOptionsForm()).
